24 Hour Animation: 'The Caveman's Capsule'

So about a month ago, Nicki YeeRyan RamirezYouri DekkerGrace Lacuesta, and I entered into the national "24-Hour Animation Competition" put on by Aubry Mintz (Animation professor @ Cal State Long Beach). We had exactly 24 Hours to conceptualize and produce a 30 second animation using the topic we were given: "What would you do if you only had 24 hours left to live?"...

Team YERDL TURTLES produced: "The Caveman's Capsule" and won 2nd place!

A huge victory not only for us, but for SJSU/Shrunkenheadman as well! Very proud of my team and an absolutely incredible experience where you truly create something out of nothing. We literally worked the whole night through and tried to get the story just right, as well as give the film an appealing look.

Every member truly played their part and more, which made the process easier. I helped mostly with story and character design, but also did clean-up and some extra animation. Here are the final character designs I did for our "Caveman" and the final film. Enjoy and great job Team!!!

Bears

Went on a four week journey furthering my knowledge of bears and sketching them for my animation class. So I picked the Grizzly Bear. Felt like I can push my gestures way more as I continue my journey with the grizzly bear, but for the most part the construction and final product is something I'm proud of for now.

Caricatures and The Strange Mustached Man...

Did some drawings of people the other day when I had some time in between my classes:

And some random character designs I did in my sketchbook with this wonderfully facial-haired gentlemen. Had a lot of fun with this and really tried to loosen up and let things happen, see how far I could push the mustached man's features:

SKETCH DUMP
